Meet Carol Schmidlin

As the president of Franklin Planning, Carol Schmidlin is passionate about helping clients work toward their retirement dreams through a well-thought-out strategy in all areas of their financial life. She listens to clients’ needs, dreams, goals and concerns, and develops a plan that aligns with what is most important to them. She understands all the issues people face in retirement and how to best integrate each of these parts to get the most favorable results.

Carol Schmidlin has been a financial advisor for 22 years and is held to the highest standard as a fiduciary financial advisor. She holds a Master Registered Financial Consultant (MRFC) designation from the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants. She maintains Series 6, 7, 63 and 65 securities licenses, along with life and health insurance licensing. She is a Master Elite Advisor with Ed Slott, for which she is required to attend two full days of tax planning twice per year, as well as pass semi-annual exams on taxes and financial planning.
As the author of “FedSavvy®: Tools and Tips to Maximize Your Federal Benefits,” Carol has made it her personal mission to guide federal employees through the complex terrain of options, provisions and strategies to enable them to maximize the benefits they have earned.
Carol has had the opportunity to work with many retiring federal employees and deliver groundbreaking presentations and seminars at many major government agencies, bureaus and associations. She now assists individuals and their families nationwide and focuses her attention on wealth management, federal employee retirement counseling, investment consulting, wealth enhancement and wealth protection.
Carol regularly provides a variety of benefit and retirement classes throughout the country. She has appeared on NBC, CBS, ABC and FOX affiliates across the country and has been featured in articles on more than 350 websites including CNBC, MSN Money, New Jersey Online (NJ.com), Reuters, MarketWatch and Yahoo! Finance.
Carol was featured in Newsweek as one of America’s PremierExperts’® “Financial Trendsetters” for her holistic approach to retirement planning. She is highly trained in key areas of wealth management: investments, taxes, insurance, estate planning and income planning (including pensions and Social Security). She understands all the issues people face in retirement and how to best integrate each of these parts into a successful retirement plan.
Residing in Williamstown, New Jersey, Carol enjoys reading, travel, fitness, golf and spending quality time with her family. She and her husband, Brett, have three children and one grandson.
